Brief History: The Brudenell (as it is often called) was formed way back in 1913 originally by a group of local businessmen as a social and recreation club. It has remained on the same site (if not the original building) ever since and remains part of the community hub to date. From 1992 the club started to cater for the students that moved into the area by putting on bands. The club’s latest motto “Beer-Music-Crisps-Fun-Etc” probably tells you all you need to know about the spirit of the place.
Personal Experience: The Brudenell has established itself as the best independent venue in the area. Putting on the best mix of the DIY local scene, national and international touring acts and community nights. I have seen everyone from The Wedding Present to Black Lace at The Brudenell. I have also played the venue a couple of times myself. Everyone involved from the bar and door staff to the sound man are super friendly and helpful and it is always a great experience to play there
