Simple things first – where are you guys from?
The North East of England, UK. However our bass player Tim is from Tasmania, Australia!
How did you meet?
Myself (David) and Connor have been friends and musicians for over 10 years. We decided to forces a few years back and start collaborating. Tim and Tommy ed later and Decrepit Youths was born.
How long have you been playing as a band?
Roughly one year. We’re new to the scene.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
We are all older and more experienced and maybe a little rough around the edges, but still young at heart. Decrepit Youths indeed.
What are your influences?
Anything from rock, metal, EDM, film scores and D&B.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
We are unique as we draw sounds and inspirations from all the genres we listed above. It’s an amalgamation of genres which gives us a unique sound.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
Connor writes a lot of the lyrics, and he draws inspiration from a lot of darker themes, political, social and emotional.

What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Our live show is like one crazy rollercoaster, with every song hitting you in the face. We are still refining our live sound , but you may need to lie down after you’ve seen us live. It’s intense and fast paced.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
I queued for an hour for a beer at a Liam Gallagher concert and then threw it over my head when “Cigarettes and Alcohol” started playing!
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
Tommy uses a Gretch Kit and we use multiple guitars: Gibson Les Paul, Aristides and Dingwall.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
Our latest single “Love Psycho Kill Machine” just came out so make sure you go check that out.
What are your plans for the next 6 months or so?
Content creation, social media and gigging.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be ing and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
