When you record a cover and the original artist comes back and pretty much says you did a better job of it than they did, you know you must be onto something good.
Such is the case with Modern Mimes, who’ve done a cracking job with goth metal legends Type O Negative’s “I Don’t Wanna Be Me”. The comment they received was more than complimentary:
This is great – this band Modern Mimes approached this cover just as Type O would have: changed the tempo and feel of it and made it their own. Tones and mix are great as well. It sounds as if Type O did a cover of Type O. Amazing job. I love this. It’s better than our version.
