As ever, we’re going to try and cover every single Jäger, New Blood and SOPHIE stage band before Bloodstock kicks off on August 9th. Your chance to check them out and start planning which bands to get there early for!
Trust us when we tell you that this is bound to result in some frustrating clashes because, as ever, there are some great bands on these three stages.
Our thanks to all the bands for taking the time out to answer our questions!
Weight Of The Tide – Sophie Lancaster Stage, Saturday
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are from Reno Nevada.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
Well, with this lineup it’s been about 6 years I believe.
Where does the name of the band come from?
The name came from nowhere honestly. Naming a band can be tough. Our name just kind of popped into my head one day and we went with it.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Well, it’s very heavy, very groovy and very melodic. I think the dual clean vocal approach makes what we’re doing a bit unique these days.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
It’s a straight up rock show, loud amps, big riffs and a damn good time. I suppose that’s big question isn’t it? Want to bang your head? Come watch us.
Have you played Bloodstock before? If so, when?
We haven’t, it’s our first time. We’re incredibly grateful and honored to be playing.
How/when did you find out that you’d be playing the SOPHIE stage?
We received the news back in December I believe.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
We’re putting together all our best from the album and throwing in a brand new one for good measure.
Which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
Tough one. There are so many amazing bands on the bill. For me, personally, Pallbearer.
What are you working on at the moment?
We’re currently in the middle of the writing process for whatever our next release will be and planning shows in our neck of the woods.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Hmmm, maybe the pit at a Vio-Lence show back in the day. Scariest thing I’ve ever seen.
Jager, Hobgoblin Ale, Red Bull, Kingstone Press Cider, Kaltenberg Beer or Bulleit Bourbon?
No Jager or Red Bull for me thanks.
