It’s that time of year again, when in the run-up to Bloodstock we endeavour to interview every band gracing the SOPHIE, New Blood and Jägermeister stages from 8th – 11th August 2019. This means you’ve got a chance to read up on all your favourite bands set to play over the weekend and decide which new ones you’ll want to check out.
As ever, we’re predicting some horrible clashes because, true to form, there are some great bands across all three stages so you should start
planning who you want to see.

Foul Body Autopsy – Jagermeister Stage, Saturday
Simple things first – where are you from?
I am from Leicester City in the East Midlands.
How long have you been playing as Foul Body Autopsy?
It will be ten years in September/October this year. From what I I started messing around with programming drums and writing the first Foul Body Autopsy songs in late September of 2009.
Where does the name of the band come from?
I stole it from the band Necrophagist. I was and still am a huge fan of them. Also the first Necrophagist album has a drum machine instead of a real drummer, so it just made sense to use a song name from their debut album as my band name.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
I wouldn’t say my music is all that unique. I tend to change style a lot so every record sounds different. But I am mostly a product of my influences.
What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?
Obviously I’m a one man band which tends to pique people’s interest. At the moment I am playing a lot of new songs live. Due to this the live show is more melodic than my previous Bloodstock appearances.
Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?
This will be my third time playing Bloodstock. I have also been as a punter many times. I love the festival – it’s so relaxed and you can just enjoy your time away from the real world for a few days.
When/how did you find out you’d been selected to play at Bloodstock?
Over the last few years I have been a judge for M2TM Leicester. This year I decided that I was going to make a highlight video of each round to document the process. The video was shot with my DSLR and I took an audio feed from the desk which was sent to my hard drive recorder. After I edited and ed the first video on April 2nd I received an email asking if I wanted to play the Jagermeister stage.
What sort of setlist can we expect?
Mostly newer material with a small amount of older songs.
Which other band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?
I never tend to worry about clashing with bands I’d like to see. When you play festivals your day is pretty much a write-off anyway. You will often find you will spend most of your time doing interviews before and after you play.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am working on what I think will be my third album. It could end up being an EP though. It’s still up in the air at the moment.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
I haven’t seen anything all that crazy at gigs so far luckily. The last time I played Bloodstock in 2015 I had a PA diver but that’s about it.
What drink do you throw back to get yourself fired up before going on stage?
Coffee, tea or water. I try not to go too crazy on gig days. At the end of the day it’s a work day for me.
