Enslaved hit the studio for the 14th time!

Enslaved, arguably Norway’s finest metal export have entered the studio once again, recording throughout April at Duper & Solslottet Studios in Bergen with Jens Bogren at the desk at Fascination Street Studios for the mixing and mastering procedure.

Once again the artwork will be designed by Truls Espedal who worked with Enslaved previously on the past 8 albums including 2015’s excellent In Times. With a mere two years between their as yet 14th untitled studio effort and the aforementioned In Times, the prog metallers aim to outdo themselves as guitarist Ivar Bjørnson explains below.

It is absolutely fantastic to be in the studio with these new songs, so many doors were opened with In Times and the times (sic) that followed; for us as a band, for me as a composer and I guess for us all on a personal level. I have never worked this hard to put together music for an album before, and that intensity continues into the studio where everybody is giving their everything, every hour of every day. We are a tighter unit than ever before, which is obvious sonically. The concept conjured by myself and old war-brother Grutle is the strongest we have worked with. Finally, I am proud that we have taken more risks than ever before, and one in particular – and it is yielding awesome results. What does that mean? Stay tuned to find out!

We will be on the edge of our seat but to the wait, we’re going to revisit In Times!

A release date for Enslaved’s currently untitled 14th studio album will be released soon, along with further details of the record.
