With just 3 weeks to go ‘til Bloodstock , we’ve got the final bands to announce for festival weekend! Have you prepped your tent and grabbed your ticket?! VIP tickets have now sold out, but there’s still time to grab a standard weekend or a one day ticket at the ticket store! Last week we also learned of a surprise special guest gracing this year’s event, when Ross the Boss confirmed that former-Judas Priest axe legend, KK Downing will be appearing with him for part of his set at Catton Park, heralding KK’s first public performance in 10 years! None more metal!
Due to the unfortunate cancellation of Code Orange’s Summer European shows, The Wildhearts will step into their Ronnie James Dio main stage slot on Saturday. Their frontman Ginger tells us “I am over the fucking moon to be playing Bloodstock festival. I’ve been waiting for this for years. I always said that the first time I attend Bloodstock , I want to be on the bill. What a way to lose your cherry!” The band’s latest album, Renaissance Men landed recently, heralded as one of the best rock albums of the year so far by Classic Rock Magazine. Check out “Dislocated”.
Also charging in to grab a spot on the Sophie Lancaster stage are Scottish gloom squad, Lotus Eater, replacing SHVPES, who’ve also regrettably had to cancel. The Glasgow based outfit recently released their Social Hazard EP via Hopeless Records. Check out the video for “Mother”.
Rounding out the Jagermeister stage bill are death metal trio Pemphigoid and heavy groove rock squad, Black Falcon who both play Saturday, as well as sludge metal crew Crimson Tusk and female-fronted death/groove outfit, Jackal’s Backbone who fill out Sunday’s line-up.
Finally, we can also announce our last batch of New Blood stage artists, winning their spots via the Metal 2 The Masses programme! Friday brings Somerset death/thrash champions Death by Ki, Brighton’s progressive/tech victors Gaia, London runners up, alt progsters Xero, and a bonus from the Merseyside final, trad metallists Midnight Prophecy. On Saturday, Cheltenham winners Grief Ritual add some new wave blackened hardcore, ed by Bristol’s prog thrash conquerors Voluntas, London’s groove metal top dogs Empire Warning, doom beasts Voidlurker, who won in Birmingham, annnnd we were so impressed by melo-death act Stormcast at the Brighton final, we’ve given them a slot too. There’s two more bands finishing off the Sunday New Blood line-up – and they are Leicester’s prog metalheads Fractions and Leeds industrial groovers Leadrobot.
Pick up your weekend tickets for £145 (+ fees) and children’s weekend tickets at just £35 (+ fees) over at the Bloodstock store. VIP tickets are now SOLD OUT! A limited amount of day tickets are also available, priced at £65 (+ fees) for adults and £20 (+ fees) for children aged 4-11. Children under 4 go free!
