When you get an email direct from the scariest Irish drummer this side of Animal drunk on Guinness, you sit up and listen. OK, Claire Percival of Dead Label doesn’t look scary at first glance but that’s her secret… Anyway, there is big news from the Dead Label camp, first and foremost being the addition of new guitarist Mick Hynes. Because obviously the band weren’t making enough noise as a three-piece.
The band announced his arrival with these words:
We toured a lot as a three piece so this is a huge shift for Dead Label, but ultimately one that allows us more depth and a bigger, heavier, louder sound. Mick is the perfect fit for us, his talent, ambition, drive and enthusiasm is everything we need for Dead Label. He is the perfect fit. We have known Mick for years, as we played gigs with his other band This Place Hell, but when we decided to add a second guitar player he was the only man for the job.
To celebrate his addition to the line-up, the band have recorded and released a video for the song “False Messiah”, the first chance to hear material from a forthcoming album which we should hopefully get our hands on over the summer.
You can catch the band live at Fibber Magee’s on February 2nd as part of the Metal 2 the Masses show, and they’re also hitting Metal Days in Slovenia this July!
