100-word review: Oslo Ess – Alle Hjerter Deler Seg

Oslo Ess - Alle Hjerter Deler SegAnother 100-ish-word review, this time for new release Alle Hjerter Deler Seg by Norwegian rockers Oslo Ess. The album was out in all territories in mid-February so you can get it now if you want it!

A band I’d heard of, but not heard anything by, Alle Hjerter Deler Seg (“All Hearts Divide”) was my first exposure to Olso Ess. And it’s a good one.

Lyrics are predominantly Norwegian, but they’re as sing-a-longy and catchy as anything that Rammstein or Die Toten Hosen (to whom they’re closer in style) have ever released in their native tongue. Some of the songs are actually pretty old, dating back to the early days of the band but finally recorded properly here for the first time.

Bouncy, punky, gritty fun without sliding down the slope into the overly-commercial. Highly recommended.
