Japanese superstars Man With A Mission have released their gold certified album The World’s On Fire for the first time internationally through Century Media. The World’s On Fire is the five-piece wolf collective’s fourth album in their home country, but their first to be released worldwide. It precedes a new studio album scheduled for global release later this year.
Man with A Mission emerged with their exciting blend of feral rock, rap and electronica in 2010. Their four studio albums have led the band to top the charts and sell out arenas across their homeland. Man With A Mission are:
- Tokyo Tanaka – vocals
- Jean-Ken Johnny – vocals/guitar
- Kamikaze Boy – bass
- DJ Santa Monica – DJ
- Spear Rib – drums
These five cats, or cats wearing wolf heads, have an interesting bio and a unique look at the world. Off we go with “Survivor” which introduces us to this non-stop rush of theatrical rock, mixed with rap and electronica.
Using English and Japanese vocals in “Dive” is a nice touch. The band have a Linkin Park hint of heavy riffs whose vocals are easy to follow allowing your heart to swell for nu metal. “Raise Your Flag” has an electronica a build-up with melodic singing and some shouty bits making these guys fun and enjoyable to hear.
The record continues with “The World’s on Fire” and “Give it Away” and the track that caught my attention is “Seven Deadly Sins”. The band have sound influenced by the aforementioned Linkin Park, Hollywood Undead and Thirty Seconds to Mars. If you love the pop form of nu metal this tune is certain to get your blood flowing. Finishing with “Wonderland” shows the band have a sound they are comfortable surrounding themselves in.
